What are Intereach NDIS Community Information sessions and workshops?

One of the ways you can learn more about the NDIS is by attending one of our Community Information sessions or workshops. These sessions cater for everyone, from those just learning about the NDIS to people who already have a plan in place.  We hold a variety of these sessions across our footprint every month. So what sessions do we offer and how can they help you?

Mobile Information Van (iVan) Visits:

Our NDIS Intereach Information Van, also known as iVan, is regularly out and about in our local communities. The iVans is regularly parked in towns for a few hours at a time and manned with friendly staff who are available to answer any of your questions about the NDIS, such as what support is available and how to access the scheme. If you would like to request that the iVan comes along to your town, place of business or local event please contact our friendly Community Engagement staff by calling 1300 488 226 or emailing lac@intereach.com.au for further details.

Community Information sessions:

These sessions are particularly useful for people who haven’t attended an information session before or could do with a refresher. They are designed as general information sessions about the NDIS, to help people with disability, their families and carers get ready for the NDIS.

Drop in session:

These sessions are aimed at participants who need assistance from a Local Area Coordinator to better understand their NDIS plan, along with other government agency supports. No appointment is necessary, just pop in for an informal chat.

Workshops

Implementation workshop:

These workshops are designed to assist participants who have already had a planning meeting to increase your understanding and confidence when implementing your NDIS plan. These workshops cover topics such as understanding your NDIS Plan, understanding NDIS budgets/Self-Management, what are Service Agreements and knowing where to find resources and supports.

Scheduled review workshop:

These workshops are aimed for current NDIS participants to learn more and prepare for the scheduled plan review process. This workshop looks at how you are progressing towards your personal goals, exploring new goals and identifying changes in your life.
